10 Healthy Habits to Form in College

It's that time of year again! In just a few days I will be heading back up to college for my senior year (woot woot!), and I know that many other students are getting ready to or have already started school for their new semesters. With the new semester opening up once again, it's time to start implementing some good habits. Whether you are a brand new college freshman or a veteran senior who knows the ropes, these ten habits are some that you are not going to want to skip out on! #1. Don't Neglect Devotions Make sure that you stay in the Word of God and be devoted to studying it every day. You may or may not get spiritually fed the same way as you do when you are at your home church, especially if you are used to some good solid teaching and preaching, so be sure to spend your personal time with God. This is especially important to do if you attend a secular college or university. There will be a lot of ungodly influences, so take extra care to be sure you are...

Tips for Eating Healthy in College

For many people, college is the first time that they are out of the home and on their own. You are now in charge of your own responsibilities, including your eating habits. Since no one is there to tell you what to and what not to eat, things may get a little out of control. We must remember that our bodies are a temple of the Lord and we are to glorify God with our bodies. I believe that this includes our eating habits. Now, I am not a doctor or dietitian. But I have compiled a list of healthy eating tips that I hope you find beneficial. Tips for healthy eating in college 1. Avoid eating out at fast food restaurants I know that it is easy just to grab a hamburger after class, but to make a habit of it is not healthy. Besides, the cost adds up after a while. 2. Learn to cook for yourself Yes, it does take time to cook meals, but (depending on what you make) it can be much healthier than eating out. It is a very practical skill to have in life, and there is no time like the...

10 Good Habits to Form in College

Looking back over your last semester or two in college, can you think of anything that you would do differently? Were you diligent in your time management? Were you ahead of the game in your assignments, or did you often find yourself pulling off late nights to get some assignment in? I know that for myself, last semester was a bit of a struggle. I was particularly lazy in a few areas that really affected the rest of my college experience. I was especially excited with the start of this new year to come back to school because I knew that there were a handful of things that I would do differently. I’m going to share those things with you today. These habits that I am sharing with you are not just things that I have copied from other people to make another list. These are actually things that I did my Freshman year and are tried and true. I cannot ever express how much better college was when I practiced these things, and I think you will benefit from them too if you tried them!...

34 Study Tips from one college student to another

I just survived Midterms week here at Bible Institute and we had some pretty intense tests. Well, 'tis the season to take tests, so I thought I would compile a list of all the study habits that work for me and share them with you! Obviously, all of these items will not work for everybody, so you can take them or leave them as you see fit. 1. Don't skip out on devotions I see this far too much, and I'm ashamed to say that I've done it a few times myself. Your time in God's Word is your spiritual food, make sure you don't deprive yourself of your spiritual nourishment. Spend time in prayer, also. It's sad to see how many people will wake up at four in the morning to study for a test but won't wake up at a decent time every other day and set apart time for growing their personal relationship with the Lord. This is not a formula for getting good grades, but it is an important part of your practical life. 2. Ask God to help you This only makes sense. G...
