The day
is here! You celebrate, you eat, you have a wonderful time. You feel so
thankful for what you have and whomever is around you. But now the guests are
going home, and the dishes a piled a mile high. Now what?
Make it
last!
Whether
you enjoy the fall décor a little longer or break out the Christmas boxes and
go shopping, remember the point of Thanksgiving. We have so much to be thankful
for. Don’t forget to say thank you to our good God for His blessings (you realize
that they didn’t end with the Thanksgiving meal, don’t you?). Let the lessons
of thankfulness remain in your heart perpetually.
Thanksgiving
is more than one day.
It’s
more than one week.
It’s
more than one season.
It’s
more than a year.
Thankfulness
is a lifestyle. It’s when you live in a way that says, “God, I don’t deserve
any of this, but You give it anyway. Thank You. Help me to enjoy it fully and
give You the praise for it. I love You.”
Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts…and be thankful.
Just one
idea for you today:
Open
your calendar to January and write “give thanks”. Put a reminder on your phone
to thank God for His blessings, and make that reminder come up in the middle of
April, in the middle of the day. On July 4th, write “praise God from
whom all blessings flow”. Let thankfulness inundate your life when leaves
aren’t falling and you’re not wearing a sweater.
That’s
why God gave you your blessings. Remember they’re for His praise.
Blessed
and thankful,
Abby
Amen! Our thankfulness is in Him Who gives us life & the ability to recognize it is Him we owe all love & gratitude towards! I loved sitting down with my 5-yr-old granddaughter as we drew what we were thankful for today! ☺ I thank God for giving you these words to share!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Hope. It's true: we would never be thankful if we never realized what God has done for us!
